Cognito Office Features

Cognito Office offers a legal firm with a natural extension to Microsoft Word. It provides a firm with the ability to produce, send and store relevant documents to clients based on precedents that your firm sets down.

It offers a first step on the ladder towards a Case Management solution but without the cost and associated implications, it is best suited to those firms who don't really feel that Case Management will ever be necessary for their practice

• A natural extension to normal Microsoft Word, making Word easier to use and far more efficient.
• Automates naming, referencing, filing of work into Matter Folders and printing to the correct bins, making it virtually impossible to lose or accidentally overwrite work. Creates footer references on all work produced showing Fee Earner, file-away name, production date and filing location.
• Allows instant access of work already produced on the file. An easy to follow Listing is presented of all work done on a specific matter ready for view or update. If the Matter Number is not known, just input part of Name or of Matter Description to locate it. Nothing will ever be lost again!
• Includes highly automated Templates. Simplifies and speeds up the creation of Letters, Bills, Attendance Notes, etc. Automatically inserts matter and Fee Earner’s information such as Direct Dial, Referencing, Sign-off, Ask for name, Direct email, Heading, etc.
• Gives a structure to allow better delegation of work and the control of such work as the System allows easy checking of what has (or has not) happened. As a consequence, encourages support staff to be used far more as real fee earning contributors rather than just being an overhead.
• Address Library facility for solicitors, agents, expert witnesses , etc. included as well as storage of “matter associated” names and addresses.
• Encourages standardisation of a quality presentation and of house styles.
• Automated Archiving of the contents of completed matter folders with ability to easily restore closed files to current at later date.
